PRODUCT UPDATES & UPGRADES Welcome to the Denon Electronics U.S.A. Updates and Upgrades page. Here you will find various user updates or upgrades for many Denon products. Most updates have been designed so that you can update your equipment at home without removing it from your system and sending it back to factory service. Normally updates will be free of charge. In some cases updates to various models may require the unit to come back to our factory service and will be indicated necessary, at only the cost for shipping it to us. For at home updates, the supplied instructions will guide you through the update process for your product. We also offer upgrades for some products. These upgrades will add functionality to a unit beyond what it originally came with at an additional charge plus any applicable sales tax for the price indicated. Some upgrades will be able to be done at home, while others will require the unit to come back to our factory service center. It will be indicated if the unit will need to come back to us for upgrade or whether it will be able to be done at home. If it can be done at home, installation instructions will be included. To check to see if an update or upgrade is available for your unit, select a model number, enter your serial number and mouse click the "Go" link. Then follow the instructions on your screen. Correction for smooth playback of Blu-ray titles at 1080p/24fps resolution and HDMI authentication are addressed. This should only be done if you are experiencing the problem. Complete details are in the instructions provided with the download. This update applies to serial numbers where the last five digits are 00000 ~ 01500 and will update the Version number to 1.018. Download size is approximately 22MB. [DVD-3800BDCI] (4/18/2008)   Firmware Update - US Version Only - *** NEW *** This update corrects for various audio and video issues that have been reported since the products inception. Complete details are in the instructions provided with the download. This update applies to serial numbers where the last five digits are 00000 ~ 01499 and will update the Version number to 1.018. Download size is approximately 22MB. [DRA-697CI] (1/19/2007)   HD Radio Upgrade This factory installed upgrade converts a DRA-697CI into a DRA-697CIHD allowing for HD Radio reception of FM digital signals. Cost $300. [AVR-5805] (7/21/2006)   HDMI 1080p, Analog to HDMI up conversion, and Microsoft PlaysForSure Ethernet " MK2 " Upgrade This upgrade installs Internet Radio by Ethernet port, 1080p scaling & conversion, & provides 1080p HDMI video switching capability. The SPK-553 upgrade is currently being done either by our own factory service in Mahwah, N.J. or by Gold Crown in Carson, CA.
